Hey there, fellow pen enthusiasts! Something pretty exciting happened this past weekend that I can't wait to share with you all. If you've followed along with my fountain pen journey over the past six months, you'll know that my passion for these elegant writing instruments has steadily grown. Hold onto your nibs because I took things to the next level—I attended my first pen show in Atlanta!

Now, I know what you're thinking—attending a pen show might sound super nerdy, and you'd be absolutely right. But let me tell you, it was also super fun! I even brought my daughter along for the adventure, and we scored some incredible finds.

The Quest for Pens

Before heading to the pen show, I had my eye on a few specific brands and models. One of my top priorities was to snag a Franklin-Christoph pen, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and unique designs. I also set my sights on a pen from Jonathan Brooks at Carolina Pen Company, famous for his stunning resin creations. And let's not forget about the Hines Pen Company—makers of big, bold, and over-the-top pens that I couldn't resist checking out.

The Haul

Let's dive into the goodies I brought home! First up, I scored a Franklin-Christoph Model 31—a sleek, internally frosted glass masterpiece that oozes sophistication. The attention to detail, from the engraved logo to the sparkling resin section, is truly impressive. Next, I couldn't resist adding not one but two pens from Jonathan Brooks to my collection. His eye-catching resin creations and his proximity to my hometown made it an easy decision. The Aiken model in red sparkly resin and the Charleston model in a captivating matte finish were irresistible. And then there's the Hinze Pen Company gem—a behemoth of a pen with an inset stainless coin and a custom burnt bronze nib. This pen is a true statement piece, and I've been writing up a storm with its 1.1mm stub nib ever since.

All in all, my first pen show experience was an absolute blast. I walked away with four incredible pens, and my daughter even snagged a couple for herself. Sure, it's nerdy stuff, but it's our nerdy, and we wouldn't have it any other way. So, if you're curious about diving into the world of fountain pens, I highly recommend checking out some of the brands and models I mentioned.
