Honestly? Both.
If you love collecting and using fountain pens, these two are different enough to justify owning both. They offer unique writing experiences and both have a timeless, minimalist design.
The best part? A vintage Montblanc 220 and a brand-new Lamy 2000 are about the same price! You can find a clean 220 on eBay for roughly the same cost as a new Lamy 2000, making it easy to experience both without breaking the bank.
If you’re looking for a daily writer that’s smooth and reliable, grab the Lamy 2000.
If you want something with a bit more bounce and character, go for the Montblanc 220.
Either way, you won’t be disappointed!
